Biking / Running

Atlantic City bike rentals, running routes and more

Sunrise run on the sand to help you seize the day? A bike ride on the Boardwalk to combat boredom? Atlantic City is the spot for adventures that make the most of your own two feet.

If you’re a runner, it’s hard to find a spot in the city that doesn’t feature a gorgeous ocean view, and you can run the beaches of Atlantic City as far as your legs will carry you. Competitive runners should sign up for the AmeriHealth Atlantic City Marathon Race Series, half-marathon 5K and 10K presented by AtlantiCare in October and the AmeriHealth April Fool's Half-Marathon presented by AtlantiCare in April. Learn more at http://www.acmarathon.org/.

If you’d prefer to see Atlantic City with pedal power, check out an Atlantic City bike rental and cruise up and down the 4-mile Boardwalk between 6 AM and 12:00 Noon. From Albany to Jackson Avenues, the hours are 6 AM to 12 Noon on Saturdays and Sundays from July 1 through Labor Day, and 24-hours all other days. 24-hour bicycling is also permitted from Connecticut Avenue to Gardner's Basin year-round. There are shops to browse, sea views to admire and plenty of cafes and restaurants to enjoy. Biking is also a great way to get around town and take in Atlantic City’s true atmosphere.

Steel Pier

Famous for its Diving Horse and carnival midway, Atlantic City’s best-known pier dates back to 1898. Dubbed the “Showplace of the Nation,” the Pier is now a Family Fun Pier with new thrills including a helicopter ride, state-of-the-art midway and a food court. Plans are in place to debut the world’s biggest Ferris wheel at the Steel Pier in 2014.
